I've been lifting for over 2 years with the meathod of an intense full upperbody workout everyother day. This has been working with me getting incredibly tone and "wirey" and bulk "looking" but without much actual mass. I've seen that much of you only work every kuscle group once a week.
Does the every other day work, for i've heard it does with the muscles only needing 48 hours to heal, but than again you all use the other meathod.
Which one would be better?
PS: I run cross country at school so I also get a large cardio workout every day. Would that affect anything??
Your major muscle groups need plenty of rest to grow. That is probably why you aren't seeing much in the way of gains. Again, I am assuming you are male since you are only training your upper body. If you want mass you need to work every muscle group no more than twice a week. And you should have at least one lower body/legs workout in there, even if you do run everyday. If you have already seen that most people here and the recommendations from the FT programs suggest working muscles one day a week, then I think you already know the answer. Some will disagree, but every other day is overtraining to me.
