I have a sharp pain sensation in my left shoulder and I'm not sure if it's torn muscle tissue, pinched nerve or something along that line. The origin of it seems to be in between the Lateral and Anterior deltoid and when I move it in certain directions (pench press, front and side raises in particular), a sharp pain runs though that area and the pain is pretty localised. Anyone who has experienced this or any input to what it likely is would be appreciated.

You probably need to see a physical therapist as it sounds like an impingement. The head of the humerous may be improperly positioned in the socket & making contact with the clavicle bone. I have been rehabing one of these for about 6 months. It still hurts ocassionally but with the right program its getting better. Like I said, there is reason for concern so get it diagnosed. After that feel free to give me an IM & I'll be more than happy to share my findings on designing a rehab program. Good luck!
