Ab training

I,ve been using a 15 lb dumbell held behind my head for crunches. I use 5lb ankle weights for lower ab exercises. What are some other techniques for adding resistance?

Oh yeah, I don't have access to machines.

You can hold a plate on your chest, and you can actually hold a dumbell between your feet for leg lifts.

I read about holding the dumbell between your feet and that seems really dangerous situation for my boys if I drop it.
