Well, I've used the FT diet and exercise plan for about 5 months now. For 2 months my exercise was very restricted due to rotator cuff surgery. I hadn't checked the body fat % charts since June. Frustration set in a time or two because my pants didn't get looser and rehab was painful and frustrating. I was able to start my lifting routine about a month ago with very grudging approval from my torturemistress . I have been using ridiculously light weights and very high reps.
Well my pants are still as tight and I have gained about 12 pounds. Just for giggles, I went back and checked my body fat % onthe FT charts . Funny thing .While my waist remained the same , my BF% has gone from 17% to 10%. Whoda thunk it?
I never would have believed that I could almost double my food intake and lower my BF %!!! I guess I'll never wear the size 32 jeans of my youth but at 50 yrs 6 feet 212 lbs, 34s are ok.
In as much as I love to eat I guess this is one of those win win situations . Thanks to all here for good advice and encouragement

Muscle mass stokes the metabolism along with diet. With more frequent meals, and gaining some lean tissue, you actually burnt fat and gained muscle, which on the scale showed a gain! Muscle weighs more than fat. Congratulations to you! Great accomplishment, and you nailed it...never give up, no matter how discouraged you get. Your body fights you, and you must fight back. Be tenacious. This should be a good lesson to those who live for the scale!!
