This may be trivial but is there any (dis)advantage to using gatorade during workouts? I noticed there doesn't seem to be too many that use it despite it's claims of being an ultimate body fluid replenishment.I tend to like liquids with some sort of flavour and I thought this would be better than say...kool-aid.

Try propel, it only has 10 calories and taste just as good.
I think excel is one of the best sports drink, its powder form - mix it yourself and has protien in it too.
I think gatoraid is an ok alternative to pop or juice.

Gatorade is great for carb and water replenishment after a workout, two things your body sorely needs. If you're doing cardio, it's a great solution to replacing fluids and giving the body energy!

It doesn't have protein in it, which is the only thing keeping it from being "the ultimate body fluid replenishment" for me. I drink ISOPURE 0 carb protein after workout, and couple with Gatorade or Powerade.

Gatorade is fine during your workout, sipping it is best. Gatorade has dextrose, which will help keep down cortisol, thus catabolism while training. The powdered mix is the best. Have a protein shake immediately post training, with some more gatorade/or a dextrose/malto mixture(which is preffered.
