Hey i was just wondering if the stationary bike that i have in my house would be a good enough cardio exercise to loose fat? I was also wondering when i should be doing cardio, at night? morning? before my workout or after my workout? Also how often should i be doing cardio when i am lifting weights 3X a week? Should i do cardio on rest days or on my workout days?

Thanx

The most important thing about cardio is 'just do it'! If your schedule is flexible then here is what I have heard. First thing in the morning is good, but only if done by itself and not before weights. If you are doing it as part of your workout, do it after your weights. How often and for how long depends on your goals. You can do cardio on rest days, but make sure you have at least one complete rest day with neither. A stationary bike is a great way to get in your cardio, the trick is to change it often. Mix up short intense sessions with longer less intense ones. More cardio is recommended for fat loss and less for muscle gain. Hope that helps, good luck.

I lost over 30 pounds using a stationary bike 4 to 5 times a week in the evenings. Now I only do it 2 or 3 times a week because my focus has shifted to muscle gain not fat loss. azredhead57 is right, the main thing is to some kind of cardio, no matter what type it is.
