I'd like to start of by saying that you all are a great help. I weigh about 150 right now with some fat on me. I need to be 135 in 4 months for wrestling. Cutting that is no problem, but my question is should I be trying to bulk up now and then cut right before the season or try to have progressive gains so I dont put on more fat which probably would make it more difficult to lose. Also, when do you think would be an appropriate time to change my diet in order to drop the fat? I eat 2200 calories, 180 protein, 300 carbs, 20g of fat. Thanks

Oh sorry but I have another question also. Since I am new at eating 5 healthy meals a day (i used to eat whatever but not like mcdonalds). Does this diet sound ok? My goals are posted above:

9: 1 cup 100% whole grain instant oatmeal & 1 banana
12: 8oz skinless chicken, 2 pieces of white bread(i think i am going to change to wheat though) 20oz gatorade, 1 cup wild rice, multivitamin
3: 1 cup wild rice
6(after workout): 1 myoplex deluxe mixed with 2 cups of 2% milk
9: 8oz skinless chicken, (i think i am going to change to wheat though), 1 cooked snapped green beans, multivitamin

cutting right before the start of the season sucks. I hated that. My High School wrestling career, I made sure that I was right around 152-160. I always wrestled at 152, so I just made sure I stayed there. Good luck

Well at 150 and dropping to 135, you're going to be cutting both fat and muscle. I think that you should maintain your current weight and try to have progressive gains right now and then start cutting around a month before the season starts. Losing a lot of weight really fast is not good for your health. When you start cutting I would still lift for strength.
