I am 15 year old, 5' 7'' male weighing 150 and I am trying to gain progressively while cutting down on my fat. My "suggested" amount of carbs are around 350g and my "suggested" fat is around 28g. Right now I am planning on eating about 200 carbs, 26g of fat, 200g of protein, and 2000 calories; however, I have read on these message boards to cut down on the carbs and eat more fats. Are these too many carbs? I would greatly appreciate a target amount of carbs/fats you think I should actually be consuming.

You are just about right on with your cals 2200 would be optimal, however for your bodyweight 200gms of protein is a bit much instead shift the profile, consume 150gms of protein, 300gms of carbs, & 26gms of fat should be fine. The important part to remember is to keep a steady supply of protein through out the day every 3 hours, concentrate on eating the carbs earlier in the day (especially pre workout) & shift the calorie ratio to fats in the evening. Some fine tuning will be necessary so here are some basic guidelines; if you are not losing or possibly gaining weight increase your daily activity or lower your intake of carbs & fat(increased activity is perfered), if you are losing weight too quickly(more than 2 lbs per week will result in loss of some lean tissue). In addition remember that when adjusting calories that a reduction of 500 calories through diet or exercise per day equals a net loss of 1 lb per week. hope this helps

In order to best achieve your goals you should be eating 6 times per day, just consume 50 gmsmilk in each meal. Carbs are probably the easiest of macronutrients to find, Breads, rice, oatmeal, pasta, milk & dairy are all high in carbs. 1 serving of most dairy products contain 10gms, a slice of whole grain bread contains 20gms. It's just a matter of counting & reading labels, good luck!
