Hello! I have just returned from a three-week vacation where I basically didn't do any weight-lifting, so my muscles got a lot of rest. Upon returning, I did the same exercise routine I did before I left, even reducing the weights a little, but now I am so sore in the thigh/butt area that I can literally barely walk. I did that routine on Friday, did some stair-machine exercise on Saturday(I was already in pain then but did it anyways), and on Sunday(today) I walked for three hours because we went to the zoo but it was extremely painful to walk. So the question would be, should I do any light stair-climbing or ellipse training to help the muscles loosen up?...I heard that moving a sore muscle helps it heal....or should I sit all day?any suggestions?

You should rest until the soreness goes away. Even though it might be difficult to stay away from the gym, you should avoid training the sore body part.
