I SIGNED UP AND GOT MY FREETRAINERS PERSONALIZED WORKOUT. MY GOAL IS TO LOSE WEIGHT (ABOUT 10 LBS) AND GET MORE MUSCLE DEFINITION. THE WORKOUT HAS ME DOING FOUR SETS OF EACH EXERCISE STARTING AT 20 REPS AND GOING DOWN TO TEN, DEPENDING UPON THE EXERCISE, WITH A TOTAL OF ABOUT 60 REPS PER EXERCISE..MY QUESTION IS DO I NEED TO DO THE FOUR SETS OR COULD I JUST DO 2 SETS OF THIRTY AND GET THE SAME RESULTS..I DON'T WANT TO GET BIG...THANKS IN ADVANCE
First off, welcome JBR0111380. If you aim is to tone up, I suppose that would be fine. (at a lighter weight than you would be using) Under normal circumstances, you'd pick a weight that you probably wouldn't be able to lift 30 times consecutivly. (you should barely be able to lift the 20 reps) So if you lower your weight to compensate for higher reps I suppose it would be ok for toning up. Might want to check for input from the others though. Good luck!
Don't worry so much about bulking up... that is not something that will just happen by accident, especially if you are a woman (you did not indicate). I lift about as heavy as I can for 10 reps at a time and no bulk here. it just really gets my heart pumping and makes my muscles stronger...
good luck and welcome to the site here
