My goal is weight loss (size loss). I know that too loose fat need to do cario(whcih I do 5-6 times a week). I read here many times that it's very hard to build muscle while doing cardio. So am I waisting my time doing weights since I'm not really building any muscle?

I'm interested to know this one as well. I know that bodybuilders put fat on when they're trying to build up...so will the fact that I'm not quite lean at the moment allow me to continue to build muscle even If I'm going cardio heavy?

I'm considering increasing my cardio to 30 mines every morning when I wake up, as well as 30 minutes after ever workout (4 times a week), as my cardio is my weakest point right now.

I'm sure this will affect my muscle gain, but how much?

I am a 55 year old female and do cardio (elliptical) 30 minutes about 6 times per week and do HEAVY weights 2 - 3 times per week for 1 hour. I have gained 9-1/2 pounds in muscle and lost 10 pounds in body fat. So do not give up on the weights. My trainer told me I am gaining muscle like a 25 year old male.

You are not wasting your time by dioing cardio and weights.
While and after doing weights, you are speeding up your metabolic rate, which in turn will help you burn more calories, even when not working out your body will have that faster metabolism which is what you want to burn fat.
And along with protein, you will burn more, as it takes more energy (calories) to digest.
Hope this helps.
