I am a new member and I recently just signed up for the Fitness Center here on the base where I work. This week (Wed & Fri)I am going to scope out the equipment at the gym and see where I stand as far as how much weight I feel I should be lifting and what machines/equipment I want to use.
I know that there is a Microfit (www.microfit.com) system there and I am wondering what you guys think of this system. Since I am just starting out, it would be good to have a base analysis done now to compare to down the road. I did a search here and did not even find 1 match so I am kind of curious about this. The gym wants $20 to do the analysis.

The club I work at utilizes the Microfit system. I really like it because it is very easy to use and very user friendly. It provides very accurate readings, and as a trainer, I know how important these are for individuals looking to imporive in areas such as BF%, strength and other areas. At the end of the test, it will print everything out for you so that you can keep track of your progress. And, if you get a good trainer to work with you, hopefully they will check up on your progress in a few weeks as well.

Thanks for your feedback dahayz. I plan on getting an analysis done sometime this week before I start my workout plan so I can compare to my original condition. Thanks again

It looks pretty comprehensive, dahayz, what all does it do?

The system we have consists of measuring BP, BF%, weight, sit and reach(flexability), a 6-12 min submaximal O2 output on a stationary bike, and arm strength. At the end of the test, you are given a print out of all of your scores and ranks you by your age group as to how fit you are or should be. Like I said, it is a really good system that is very accurate.
