Sometimes i have absolutley no energy needed to workout. Would consuming one of these drinks really help me get that extra boost? I know they arent good for you but just for some occasional help? I heard the caffiene in them is that of 8 cups of coffee.

Protein supplements seem way too much hastle. Apparantly they taste pretty bad, they have horrible side effects and they're too expensive for me. I eat a 400g tin of tuna every day, and make 3 sandwitches, this gives me 300 calories and 96g of protein a day (inc bread). For a 130lb person, this isn't so bad, but is rather expensive :(:(.

Anyone got any opinions on protein shakes?

A cup of coffee has about 90-100mg of caffeine, trust me when I say that Red Bull does NOT have that amount of caffeine in it. All red bull is is a mixture of carbonated water, sugar a little caffeine and a little taurine. Nothing to be to excited about. You would actually be better off drinking regular coffee with some non-calorie sweetner. Some research on coffee has come out and it shows that it is very similar to green tea in terms of the antioxidants it provides. Drinking 2 or 3 cups before a workout would be a great way to begin a workout.

cjty.. protien supplements have horrible side effects? What protien supplements are you talking about. I use optimum 100% natural whey protien and it seems fine and I couldn't find anything about side effects with protien shakes before I bought it. Also how is it too much of a hassel.. the power I use stirs in pretty easily.. so really its just pour some milk.. dump in a scoop.. stir... doesn't seem like much work to me?
