have just started taking creatine, i was wondering if anyone knows about the side affects. Every time i take it, i get very big mood swings, is this a unfortunate side affect. Does it go away after a few days.

I myself also take creatine, but the only side affects that i know of is that if your do not drink enough fluid that ur muscle cramps , mostly after your workout because during the workout we are prone to drink fluid, but after/before excercise is when everyone is lacking fluid redemption. Another Side Affect that i know of is that if u take too much creatine,(as i know it depends on ur weight the amount of creatine you take) you get the runs. I am still learning more about creatine but it is a supplement that very little is known about. Also you have said everytime u take creatine ( im guessing that you do not take it everyday) which is also said that you have to maintain the levels of creatine in ur muscle fibre by taking it everyday regardless of excercise or not. Most people take creatine prior to excercise and on not workout days as soon as you wake up.

I am in my 3rd week of a new creatine cycle I have never heard of any side affects other than dehydration and the occasional case of the runs make sure you drink a minimum of 1-2 gallons of water daily and make sure you follow a solid diet. as for the mood swings if I had to guess they are probably not from the creatine if you looking for more info and research on creatine just go to google.com and enter creatine in into the search option you will find some good articles and opinions
