I started a work out program exactly three weeks ago. Which consist of a free weights and 30min cardio 6 times a week. I have also drastically altered my diet. Lots of water and fruits and veggies, and only lean meats. I eat no processed foods and very little carbs (basically only the carbs that are in the fruit and veggies.)

I feel pretty good and I have made some real strength gains and my upper body feels tighter. I don't notice any drastic changes in the mirror yet. Against what seems to be conventional knowledge I weighed my self this morning and I weighed the same as before I started. I must say that this was a little disappointing. I like my routine, it is challenging and makes me feel good exhausted) afterward. My question is how long does it take to start seeing some visually noticeable results? 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks?

Sounds like you're doing a fantastic job. I've known people who've dropped out of the loop because they weren't getting the results that they wanted quickly enough.
I've always believed, though I'm no expert, that to lose weight, in a healthy manner, takes some time to accomplish. So stick it out-I don't think you'll regret it <smile>

Thanks that is what I wanted to hear. I guess I sort of expected to look like the dude off the cover of men's health by now (tan and all)!! J/k

My biggest concern is sticking with a program that is not working. I don't want to be too quick to shift gears. If it takes ten weeks for a fitness program to really start yielding results then that is the benchmark I will use to evaluate my plan. If however I should have seen some noticeable visual results by now, then I would want to adjust either my meal plan or my work out. I think I am going to go the route of the special K guy on TV and dump my scale. Is there a certain time frame you should switch your routine? My plan I have now I was planning on changing things up every six weeks. How often should you reevaluate?

Thanks again for everyone's advice, and new to this board and I really appreciate all the friendly advice that I have received.
