Has anyone tried this program? I'm looking to gain some muscles as I have toned up nicely. I increased my calorie intake from 2000 to 2300. I'm 25 years old, 5'9 & 130lbs. Just curious as to what others have acheived for results.

You can do it but to gain mass you might want to add some more cals to your diet though......you need at least 500 cals extra to gain a lb.

I began the Max Mass Gains program at the beginning of this year, and after two months I had gained 15 lbs of lean muscle (from 200 to 215). Like anyone else on FT will say, diet is the key. I upped my calories to about 4000 per day since I have a high metabolism, and significantly increased my protein intake as well. Your results will be directly proportional to how strictly you follow your diet and how hard you train each time in the gym. Good luck, and I hope you reach your goals!

Mzakal,

Thank you for your advice! I have a high metabolism, too. I have no problem following a clean and strict diet. Do you think 2300 calories is too low? Maybe I should aim for 2600? I am aiming to eat my weight in protein - 130g. I focus on eating well-balanced meals instead of 3 meals and 2 snacks.

Calvak714 -

You need to up your calories more than 2600. I'd say more like 3500 or so. Up your protein to 1.5 grams per lb of weight and get your carbs to 2xbody weight. It seems like a lot, but It's not that hard. Tuna fish, protein bars, chicken, and eggs. I'm doing 300 grams of protein right now and I thought at first it'd be impossible. Not hard at all. For you, I'd do 2 cans of tuna, 3 chicken breasts, eggs for breakfast, and a protein shake. That should be enough. Make sure to eat these in more than 3 meals. Try 4-5 meals every couple hours.
Routine-wise, low reps and heavy weight. Mix it up every few weeks. If you'd like, I'll send you a routine that I used my last cycle. My bench jumped up 15lbs, squats about 15lbs, and deadlifts up 25lbs. Send me an e-mail and I'll respond with the attached routine.

Hope some of this helps.

When I say 4-5 meals every couple hours I mean 4-5 meals per day, split into every couple hours or so. So a tuna fish sandwich at 10am, then a chicken breast or protein shake at 12 or 1.
