1) When you guys say that tuna is a good source of protein, are you guys referring to the canned tuna?
2) How do you guys like to eat tuna? I usually mix it with mayonnaise and make sandwiches with it. Is this too fattening?

I can't do the canned tuna. It's too mushy to me.
I use the tuna in the pouches. I buy the albacore and usually just eat it right out of the pouch. Bread(especially white) is full of the bad kind of carbs.
I also make a tuna melt once in a while. Brush olive oil on whole grain bread. Put it in a hot pan as if you are fixing grilled cheese. After both sides are browned, put a slice of fat free cheese on it, some pouched hickory smoked tuna, another slice fat free cheese, and put it together. Cook it long enough to heat the tuna and melt the cheese. I dip it in mustard. :) I think it's good. I don't have it often though because of the bread and processed cheese.

I sat through 2 cans of tuna a couple days ago. Um, not doing that again. Mayo was cool for the Atkins, so I would eat it that way, with some mustard, garlic and onion powder. Also, chopped up celery and onion made it quite tasty, didnt need the bread at all. Not sure about the mayo issue though and its fat content.

Fresh or canned is fine I would try to stay away from the mayo though. I am probably not the best for recipies because I love tune straight out of the can. I have found that mixing it with other things adds to it mustard or pickles celery, onion. I like it best flaked over a salad with apple cider vinegar on it.

I am worried about whether my increase in protein will help me build bigger muscles or not...
I have started to eat 400grams of Tuna, in sandwitches each day, which alone gives me about 90grams of protein...

Any kind of tuna will do. Mayo is fine to mix with. A tablespoon of mayo has 11g of fat, but only 1.5 are saturated, meaning the remaining is good fat.

the pouch tuna is the best, i through in chopped onion, sometimes some bell pepper, some low fat mayo (mix it up)and sometimes I put it between some toasted whole wheat. On occassion I go old-school and drop in 2-3 potato chips for crunch (on my "cheat" day, although I don't cheat much).

i like the tomatoe and onion tuna. I have 2 cans of that at a time, with a slice of grain bread and lemon herb tea!

Cjtyson, I'd cut back the bread. It sounds like you are eating a lot of sandwiches in a day. How many are you talking and what type of bread? White bread is the worst kind you can eat. If the tuna is the only protein you are getting a day, you need to increase that a lot. Ravenwolf is right...you need 1 to 2 grams of protein per lbs that you weigh.

Hello. I'm new to this site. I love to mix my tuna with mustard and pace picante sauce. then take some low-cal/wheat crackers and scoop it up with that. The tuna is also good on top of quaker brand white cheddar cakes ... if you don't mind the fat, slice a few thin slices of avacado and put that on top.
