Hi all. I've been web surfing today and found that there are quite a few of fitness calculators out there(ie. body fat percentage, body mass index, and so on). I used two of these tools and now I'm confused about my results. First, I got 25.19 for body-mass index, which means my "Death rates are noticeably higher" according to
http://www.thusness.com/bmi.t.html
Then when I calculated my body fat percentage, i got 10.17%, which is considered as Athletes according to
http://www.healthchecksystems.com/bodyfat.htm
Are these two results contradicting?

One can't really go by a program on a computer to get actual BF%. The most efficient way at low cost, is to use calipers. Us the # only as a scale to guide you , if it goes up you have to make corrections and if it goes down you are doing something right.

the body mass index is the best calculator to use. it is basing this on how much you should way based on your height, but if you are muscular you will be lean and fit but can weigh that much because muscles weigh more than fat. so look in the mirror, for bodyfat use calipers or see if you can get a more professional measurement. numbers really don't mean much (other than those from a bloodtest such as triglyceride levels, etc). i prefer to use a measuring tape and make sure i am ripped as i want to be.
