I just wanted to have a understanding of why I may be gaining weight. I'm not distrub by it, because I know there could be no way I will continue to gain weight while working out.
But anyway, I had finished a 6 wk program at 181 then continued to do different exercise programs (with no cardio) and about two or more weeks ago I weighed myself and was 184. Then two days ago I weighted myself and was 186. I'm on week 2 of a 12 week program for weight loss and muscle definition. I also added 30 minutes of cardio. 15 before I workout and 15 after. I do the pyramid, where I start low weight, medium, heavey and the medium. When I come back to the same exercise I will move up in weight.
Thanks for the help

you may be losing fat and gaining muscle. what are your goals bodybuilding for competition or slimming down? for toning stick to lower weight - higher rep. keep rest between sets to 30 seconds and below. keep at it you may be pleased to get bigger biceps and have a slim waist. at this point see what is more important your ideal weight or a particular bodytype. it may be best to make some measurements of your body and compare those instead of your weight. take your weight at the end of a whole month to see more accurate results. check your diet, this site recommends a little too much in calories for my liking so you may want to do as i did and lower them a little below your basal metabolic. or try doing more cardio. eat 6 meals a day with protein in each so you don't go catabolic. the main thing is all bodies are different so if you don't like the way any particular thing works for you, change it slightly and see if you get the results you want then. the internet and this site is a great source of information for the person willing to look.

My goals is to reduce fat (slim down) and tone up my muscles. I did start eating 6 meals a day with the added protein.
I've decide to wait until I'm half way through the program then check for results. The only reason I got on the scale was I can'nt find my tape measure. Looks like I'm going to need to repalce it.
Thanks bdipab

The reason you are gaining weight with your new program and way of eating is because you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fatty tissue, the 3 pounds is probably muscle. What will happen is once you build enough muscle and your metabolism speeds up it will help you burn fat and you will see your body change as well as your fat percentage. Foreget about weighing yourself. Use your eyes and the mirror and you WILL see changes. You will not get big and muscular because you are a women and don't have the horemons to do that. Keep up the good work and keep us posted with your accomplishments.
