I know that "spot reduction" is not possible. I am male, 5'7" 148 lbs. I am in a pretty decent shape. I have a workout schedule and have been following it for thhe past 16-18 weeks. I see the results. I have got more definition and could feel the fat reduction especially around my waist (from 30 to 28).

I don't have a double chin when I look straight ahead. But when I touch my chest with my chin I get double chin. Is that the most difficult thing to get rid off? I am getting frustrated.

I have also cut down my cardio to gain little more muscle.(about 20 min/3 times per week). My dinner is mostly chicken or eggs or fish with spinach/green beans.

I usually have a muffin for breakfast and a protein bar.

A protein shake before my workout.

Sould I increase my cardio to 45 to 60 min / 3 times a week?

thanks

You seem to be on the right track.. and with great progress.

If you are trying to get rid of you 'double chin' then that will be 100% from diet and cardiovascular activities. It will fade in time, as you said already - spot reduction is impossible. However this may be genetic. Are there other areas on your body that still contain significant fat?

Thanks for the reply. There are still fat in my lower abs (which is going away slooooowly..). Also the fat just below te ribcage is also melting(?). However, my face still looks the same. I was hoping to get the toned look on my face but it hasn't changed while other parts of my body changed (for good) over tthe past 3 months.

I also want to know if I should change my cardio by atttending spinning clas, aerobics class etc. I don't know if yoga helps in fat burning.

Also I have noticed that I lose muscle when I increase my cardio (40min/3-4 times a week). I am confused about striking the right balance between cardio and wt training).

About the double chin being genetic, my mom and dad have a good defined jaw line. I think I was adoptted ;-)

I think that happens to a lot of people. It might not even be fat, it might just be skin. If it only happens when you touch your chin to your chest, who are you so concerned?

DONT EAT THE MUFFINS, most muffins are worse than donnuts.
Look at the fat and sugar content.
Try a slice of dry toast instead, or maybe some unsweatened cereal.
Dont cutdown on your cardio; 30-45 min a day is good, 4-5 times a week is great way to burn them cals too. Keep it intense-you will get there if you have the will.
