Week One Down!

I have a workout set up for tomorrow, but my family needs me. So I will postpone it till Sunday.
I honestly didn't think I was going to make it through my workout last night but somehow I did! I looked P-IT-A-FUL doing my elliptical last night. I was holding on for dear life trying to get through it so I was expecting a low milage. However, I still finished 2.45mi AND the biggest part is that my heart rate was at 150bpm .. That was HUGE for me, when I started I was averaging 170+ heart rate. I was begining to be concerned that I was gonna hop off and have a heart attack right then and there. But as I have been sticking to it my HR has been coming down. I don't feel fantastic, I feel accomplished!

I have a personality that thrives on lists. So having a list with me, of what I'm expected to do, makes it so much easier for me to push through. I also got tickled that I'm becoming more familier with my gym. I keep to myself (which is hard, I'm a social butterfly) and learn as I go. Or I observe and mimic others when the pictures on the machine confuses me. This one guy, I was in total awe of, He layed on a bench facing up, put his arms above his head and held on to the bench. Then he lifted both or his legs at once and pushed his feet towards the ceiling until he was only touching the bench with his shoulders. I may of made him feel awkward by my staring...LOL , but I was just amazed at his strength and control.

I haven't set any goals for myself yet. I don't really have any. Yes, I want to lose weight. Yes, I want to be tone. Both of those are great but I need more reachable short term goals for myself. So, My goal for today, Set my Goals!

LOL! The treadmill and I do not get along. Grace is not a virtue I have..lol I just see me ending up on the equipment behind the treadmill while trying to get a drink of water. The index cards sound great. I have a blank workout log that I write my expected workout list on for the day and I fill it out before I go to the gym so all I have to write is my lbs that I used for each exercise and my sets/reps. It makes my workout go by so much quicker and less confusing. :)

I also have a list! Actually, I have index cards for every day. I wish the print out they have on this site was smaller so I could just print and go! The index cards have been working great. :) I hate the elliptical machine. So I stick with the treadmill, bicycle, or just running or jogging outside. The elliptical machine always makes me feel like one leg is longer than the other. lol
