Week 1 of 7 for training for a Triathlon !

There is a Women's series Triathlon on Sept. 10, near my home, so i'm going to start training for it. It is a sprint distance, which is a 750m (0.6 mile) swim, 20km (12.4 mile) bike and a 5km (3mile) run. I figure it'll take me about 1:15 to 1:30 hrs to complete. This means I'm going to have to shift my wt training to focus on swim/bike and running. I'm pretty confident that I can already do each of the distances, but doing them consecutively is another story, but I have 7 weeks to prepare and I have done a 13mile run in the past (which took me well over 2 hours)

My training plans are to do each activity at least 1X per week, and then do my wts 2X per week. So week 1, starting today, should go something like this:

Monday: wts
Tuesday: run
Wednesday: swim
Thursday: wts
Friday: bike
Saturday: run or bike or swim.

I'm going to have to start my riding on a stationary bike until I tune up my daughters bike, which I'll use for the Tri. I'm not ready to drop $800 on a bike yet!I've also found a fresh water quarry that I can practice my open water swimming.

This will help keep me eating clean and it'll be fun to have a different focus for the 7 weeks! It'll also be one thing I can check off of my to-do list for 2006.

I haven't actually registered for the meet yet, but will do so next week, once I'm sure I can actually pull this off!

Oh Ya, todays workout consisted of a 3 mile run on the treadmill at 6mph.
