Wed. full body workout--worked up a sweat today!!
I was a bit sore this morning from my workouts on Mon & Tues, but fortunately it was my massage day. My massage therapist worked on lots of knots in my neck shoulders back and hamstrings. An athletic massage is kind of like running, it is painful during but, the endorphins kick in afterwards...thank God, because we'd never do these silly things if it wasn't for that.
Anyhoo, I went to the gym and figured I'd be wize to keep things lite. I thought I was keeping things lite, but boy it was tough and I worked up quite a sweat--the joys of taking 2 weeks off.
Here's what I did today:
4min on ellip for warmup (all TM were taken by the newbies)
Smith squats: 15X25(bar only) 12X75 / 12X95 / 10X115
Rev lunges from step: 12 each leg/12/12X10lbs
SL DL's: 12X45(bar only) 12X65 / 10X85
HS bench press: 12X36 /12X36 /12X36 (shoulder bit tender)
Asst. pullups: 12X100 /10X90/6X80 (60/70/80lbs) --I think this is where I've lost the most strength, but it could also be tougher due to wt gain );
Seated row: 12X50/12X60/10X70
Chair ab crunches: 12/12/12 with hold on end...OMG these get my heart pumping.
Lots of stretching to cool down.
I'm pretty whacked and I think I'll have pretty severe DOMS over the next couple of days...serves my right for my over indulgences.
Did manage my walk last night and I start a Fencing class with my hubby on Thursday evening. If I get any severe DOMS, the fencing will be interesting to say the least!! Hopefully all the lunges I do at the gym will finally put to good use (;
