made a great discovery today!
I stumbled across a circuit routine I wanted to try at my gym today...only problem was that it was all floor work, and the floor area of the main gym really sucks. So...I wandered up to the Ladies Only gym and found they have very nice small workout room complete with wooden floor, mats, balls, body bars, etc...but best of all....no one uses it for classes over the noon hour!! So here's what I did in my own private gym...just me and my ipod!
warm up with jumping jacks, skipping, knee bends etc.
12 plie squats with 12lb dbl
10 wide pushups
10 rev lunges
30s plank
10 narrow pushups (need to get lower with these-but they're really tough)
30s side plank-each side
10 mountain climbers
Did this routine 3X with very little break between. It only took about 30min, including the warmup, but I was drenched by the end of it.
Followed this with 15min of HIIT on bike (2min warmup/6 intervals/2min cooldown.
This is going to be a great routine for my swim days as it isn't too taxing on my upper body, but still a tough workout. I can increase the reps and time intervals and/or add wt to up the difficulty.
Pilates and swim last night went well. Water was too warm though, which makes the workout even tougher. Lots of IM work and practicing flip turns.
Diet going very well. Today's meals include Kashi Golean with berries and skim milk, cottage cheese/peachs, home made chili and veggies, orange, almonds and probably more chili with ww flatbread for dinner.
Wt is finally heading in a downward direction!
