Breaking My Plateau

What's up!  It's been a while since I used this service.  It's nice to see the improvements they've made and great to see all of the great service they continue to offer for free.  I've been working hard at reversing some of the terrible things I did to my body and I should have known better.  In college I was a NCAA D2 athlete weighing 165 lbs and with about 8-10% body fat (depending on whether we were in season or not).  Six years after leaving college I was 225 lbs and let’s not even talk about body fat %.  I took a look in the mirror one day and was absolutely horrified.  I made a decision that drastic measures were in order, but whatever I did needed to last me the rest of my life because I didn't want to see that guy in the mirror ever again.  I became much more conscious about what went into my body (although not too regimental), I began a workout routine and took up activities like paintball and snowboarding that put me in motion.  I also started playing soccer again in local recreational leagues (this helped a lot).  My last weigh in saw me at 175 lbs and down to a 33 waist from a 40.  I seemed to have hit a plateau though so I'm back at freetrainers.com looking for a breakthrough.  Hopefully I will find everything that I need here from workout routines to a supportive community.  It's nice to be back and I am amped up and ready to hit the gym with new purpose!

What type of cardio are you doing? Is this everyday that you're doing the two together? What does your strength routine look like? I'm not a physio but I'd be happy to give my input.

I, too have hit a plateau and I'm really trying not to get discouraged by this. I've been working my behind off for 5 weeks 5x a week. Mixing cardio and strength training. When I started I was as 220lb, today I'm at 213. I've been conscious of my food intake and portion control, water and everything and I don't know why I have not lost more than this. I've joined this site for the very same things for support and creative ways in breaking this platuea. My exercise regimen consists of 30 minutes of cardio and 35 minutes of strength training. Any suggestions!!!
