Am I not getting anywhere??

I range from weighing 126 to 128 and can never seem to lose anything. Because I am only 5'2 everything goes to my thighs and bulges in my stomach. I need help getting an workout routine and lately I just have felt more depressed than ever about my body. I know that I am not fat, but I don't feel like I look as in shape as I should. I workout about 3 to 4 times usually 4 a week, and other girls who do nothing look better than I do. I used to be 145 and now I just want to keep losing it and tone all the jiggly parts up. Just feeling bad for myself tonight is all :/ If anyone has any great routines they would like to share I would love to hear them!

Thanks you guys! It means a lot, and I will stick with it and start making adjustments. It is hard with the food stuff because I am a college kid who eats campus food but I always eat a salad and more vegatables...never the meat because I don't trust it and everything else is covered in grease. I just need to make a few adjustments to my workout and I am sure that things will change! Thanks!

I used to be in your situation (although I weighed about 100 lbs more than you do). The thing that did it for me was keeping logs. Food logs, exercise logs, monitoring my heart rate, all of it. You will find that you have to make small adjustments until you find what works. You don't know what to adjust or if it's working if you aren't keeping pretty good track of what you put in your body, and how your body burns calories. I also find that I was eating foods that weren't right. I always recommend choosemyplate.gov as a starting point, and then you can go to places like allrecipes.com and look at some of their tailored recipes. Don't give up, it takes a lot of hard work, but it will happen eventually!

I'm working on about the same thing, its hard for me too but I'm not giving up. But I can say to shape up muscle you want lightweights and high reps, I've started running on the treadmill. I wish you much luck!!!!! I would look into Plyometric Exercises.

Do not give up! We have great workout routines right here. Try any of our home based or gym based workouts, perhaps the circuit training and you'll burn the calories you need. Key is to follow the directions with the rest between sets, if it says 30 seconds then you must follow that. These are all great routines that work. If you are not seeing the results you want and are following the programs exactly, then you need to adjust your diet. Lower you calories, lower you carbs, etc. For specific help, join the groups and ask away - there are plenty of others in the same boat that would love to get in on it as well.
