Hey everyone...I was wondering whether it's better to do all of your workout (cardio and lifting) at the same time. I know cardio is best in the morning but should lifting be done right after that or should you break it up?

What I have heard is that to gain muscle mass you should do your cardio after you weight train, and before if you are more interested in cutting. this applies only on days where you want to combine the two. I usually just do cardio on my off days. I think you have to find out what works best for yourself, thats what I have done. The people here at ft should be able to give you some better answers, they really know their stuff! Good Luck!

You should not do cardio prior to lifting...your glycogen stores are usually fully depleted by then and your lifting will suffer.
I would recommend doing cardio on another time during the day, or on a non-weight training day altogether.

I'm with qualters on this one. I usually do cardio on my off days and it works well. However, sometimes when I feel a little extra rush I go for a run after working out. Usually though, I have no energy left.

I thought when you were trying to gain mass, you do no cardio at all? Is this right?

Cardio is good for the heart. As long as you don't do excessive cardio, I would think you were doing your body good. I would seggest 30 min 3x week of cardio. You really aren't doing a lot of fat burning if you stick to that.
