My husband & I just got a membership to a gym & did our first workout last night. The personal trainer had me weigh myself & I'm so embarassed to say how much it was, but lets just say I need to loose 75 pounds to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. And my body fat is horrible. I'm more motivated than ever to loose the fat & tone up but I'm not sure where to get started. The trainer gave me a few ideas on what I need to do but only for my arms & that I need to do at least 20 minutes of cardio every day.
Does anyone have suggestions on the best exercises that I should do to help me loose the fat? I have access to all free weights, classes, & machines. The only thing my gym doesn't have is a pool but that will be available in Jan.
Thanks for any help, tips or advice you might have.

well if u want to lose fat its a combination of cardio and weight training. Cardio burns fat and is good for your heart, but u can't forget about the weights because that builds muscle and muscle is what burns fat, and gives ur body defination and shape. when i first started working out and eating healthy i weighed 191, and im 5'6'. im not really ashamed to say it because i had a problem. i lost 40 pounds, but gained about 12 over the summer but im back in the swing of things again and i lost 2 pounds my first week back on the saddle. i do about 30mins of cardio, between 3-5x a week, and strength training 3x a week. good luck on your journey to a healthier u! i hope this helps.

Stormie, ...Shene is right on, you need to do a full body workout, with the cardio.
Try a program on here, there is one called "weight loss and definition training" just put in the info it asks, and it will give you a great program.
Why pay for bad adice? That trainer didn't really help you 100%.

get your money's worth. ask as many questions that you can on whatever you're confused about. if he/she gets snippy, find a new trainer.
