Weight gain associated with Prednisone

I have been on Prednisone steroids for the last 8 months for treatment of Crohns disease. I am finally tapering down, and am currently taking 20mg per day. I am having a difficult time losing the weight that was gained as a result of the medication. The prednisone worked, and put my disease in remission. However, the effects are negative both physical and psychological. I would appreciate the input of anyone out there who has endured the same problems of losing the weight after treatment. Does it take long? Are there any special workouts and/or dietary methods that work better than others?

I think there were some posts on this issue...and your experience is similar to the ones I read here before....try to use SEARCH feature on the bottom of the page to find similar threads of interest...
