It seems that on my rest days after my weight lifting that I tend to get a little bloated and I seem to retain more water and my pants feel tighter at the waist. Is it just me or is there a reason shy you would retain water after weight lifting?

It could that your muscles are still having the "pump" feeling, meaning that there's still a lot of blood flowing thru them. Are you taking creatine or anything like that?

no im not taking any supplements other than a whey protein shake right after my workout. Can your muscles still have a pump a day later? I have been going very heavy with low reps for the last month or so and I stay sore for about 2 days after.

I think that it might just be your consious (sp) It might not be that way at all but you may feel like it is because you didn't workout that day. Just a suggestion.

Yes you can have the "pump" feeling the next day not as severe as right after a workout but there should still be a good amount of blood flowing thru you muscles a few days later. Ever notice that towards the end of the week the muscles you worked in the beginnning may seem a little smaller than they did before?
