I am starting doing weights again after about 9 months off. I am nowhere as fit as before and am really struggling on a couple of fronts.
Firstly the next day I seem to really struggle with energy. I tend to eat before going to the gym after work about 6:30 and start a session about 8. After about a hour I then shower and head home to eat some cereal and lots of water.
Secondly i struggle to get to sleep, normally trying at about 11, but often later. Then generally have trouble nodding off or getting a good nights sleep. Then up about 6:20 for work.
When you get home have a decent protein source and a complex carb like a sweet potato. Try and have a decent protein source and slow burning carb with your pre workout meal. Your fatigue the next day may be a number of things, from diet to just not getting good sleep. Try taking 400-500mg Magnesium, 50mg Zinc and 50mg B6 about 30minutes before bed. That should help.
