Hello all,
I'm hoping to get some opinions here-
I'm 26, 270 and 6'1" tall.
I've lost about 11 lbs in about 2 months.

I want to get to between 200 and 210.

I just recently went back to excercising and now I am running 2 miles each night (monday thru friday) at a good clip (about 5.0 for 15-20 minutes, the rest is warm up/cool down at 3.0).

I have been doing the slim fast thing, no breakfast, one lunch bar and the shake for lunch plus a regular dinner.

I seem to have hit a brick wall -

so here's my questions:
1) With a suggested caloric intake of 3240 (12x270) calories/day is this for maintaining weight or loosing it?
2) Should I do weights? I have both freeweights and natulus. I dont want to pack on the muscle, that will make me heavier.
3) Should I stop slim fast and go to regular meals?
4) How the heck do you get rid of that sweet tooth?
5) Is working out monday through friday and skipping the weekend OK?

Thanks for your help!
Chris

Yes, due the weights muscle is more metabolicaly active and will help you loose weight. Also go to regular meals your not eating enough to fuel your metabolism. Also skiping the weekend is ok. Personally I would rather be 220 of muscle than of jello.

for your sweet tooth, make a conscious effort to eat healthy 80% of the week, but give yourself more freedom with the other 20%. Eventually, well for me, it happened that I didn't feel the cravings much anymore, and pretty much weened myself away from the 20% to a very health-conscious diet.

Your looking for trouble with your present diet.
Do as Mike said, eat real meals try eating 5x a day 3 meals 2 snacks. 12 cal per pound would be the lowest you can go to maintain good health. Once you start eating healthy foods and enough protein and carbs you won't crave the sweets. Eventualy you will be looking at healthier alternatives for the cheat meal also.
