Hey everyone, I am a 22 year old male (5"10 180 lbs) who is having a very pesky problem. For about the past year I have had dizzy spells, that come and go at different times during the day, where I cant even think straight, and my thoughts are cloudy, as well I feel like fainting, and am tired. I work out 6 days a week, and during the workouts and as well as during when I sleep are the only times when I feel "normal". I eat quite well, I cut out all pop, fast foods, etc, I normally have 2 protein shakes a day, a bowl of cereal, a nutrigrain bar, a can of tuna, a sandwich with meat, as well as a big dinner. Yesterday I took my blood pressure on one of those bp testing machines, and mine was 25 points below "normal", as well my pulse was 55, which I was told was also extremely low. I have had blood tests done...nothing, I have also had all sorts of other tests done with nothing to show, the only lead it the blood pressure test so that is what I am basing this condition on. I consulted with my mom and she said I am not eating enough for the amount I work out, even though i feel like I have been eating enough. So beginning yesterday I have started to eat 6-8 meals a day. So far today I have had a cheese sandwich, a chicken sandwich, 2 protein drinks, an apple, a can of ravioli, and a bowl of pudding with bananas in it,as well as plenty of water, and one drink of grapefruit juice, later on I will have supper. My mom says it will take a while for me to feel better and get my blood pressure back up to normal standards. I also feel better after I drink a pop, which I thought might relate to blood sugar, but my doc says he gave me a blood test, so I thought that would show. Can anyone tell me if this is what is wrong with me, and if I am taking the right measures, and when I can expect to feel better? Thanks for any responses, it is greatly appreciated! I am really at my wits end with feeling like this.

It could be the meals...but can't tell for sure. How many calories are you consuming now? And what type of workout do you do 6 days per week?

Hi! Thanks for the response. I would venture to say I was consuming probably just under 2000 calories a day. I am lifting heavy six days a week, as well as doing cardio everyday for 20 minutes.

Set up your profile, more info people know about you the more they can help.

2000 sounds very low for what you are doing tho. Have you tried setting up a FT plan for nutrition and seeing their recomended levels?

Hey Cyclone, This may be of help to you. A good friend of mine was having the same broblem as you, and the work out sound pretty close. He had to increase his carb intake to about 450g/day and calories to 2750 plus take iron supliments if his diet did not give him the recommended amount took hime two weeks to solve the problem but almost 9 months and three doctors to help him find the solution. Something to concider, good luck.

thanks once again everybody, I upped my carb intake today signifigantly, and felt a little better, I am sure this thing will take time though. I am going to heed the advice of sempai and really up my cal intake as well. I suppose I should also up my cardio to half an hour (my cardio is always on the stationary bike). Hey Jingo, thanks for the help, and I thought I did fill out my profile, am I missing a section? I have not set up a nutrition plan on FT, I think I will look further into that as well!
