I lost 190 pounds and had so much excess skin that I had to have surgery (tummy tuck, butt and thing lift) to remove it. Depending on how old you are and how long your were obese and good genes has an influence on the elasticity left in your skin. Strength training does help tone up your body but excess skin may remain.
I wish I knew this back when I was eating doughnuts by the dozens.

Get your bodyfat down around 10-12% and hold it for a good deal of time. I'm in a similar situation here, 17 years old down from 297lbs to about 205lbs. Last time I measured my BF% was 21% I'm quite confident it's gone down some as it's been some time since. Grab the loose skin, if it's thick that means there is fat, since you've last weight chances are the fat density has broken down. Loose the rest of the fat, not some but close to all and it should go away, espically since your still young.

Loose skin really depends on genetics, how quickly you lose weight, how much muscle you have, hydration and a ton of other things.
If you lose weight slowly(ie 1-2lbs a week) you will be giving your skin time to adapt and depending on it's elastiscity, it could easily shrink with the rest of you. Keeping hydrated is is essential not just to your overall health, but to skin health as well. There are also some pretty good firming lotions out there that can help too!
