I tried the body fat calcualtor at mybodycomp.com and it came out that I have 74% body fat!!This can't be because I am 5'7" and 115 lbs so there is no way I have this much fat. I remeasured myself and it's the same thing. My only guess would be that since I have a bulging belly(78 cm) which is because I have loose muscles, the thing calculated it as fat. I always keep my stomach sucked in though so it doesn't even show. Anyone have any other guesses?Heeelp!!

Hmmm 5'7" and 115lbs... that doesn't sound like 74% bodyfat. Something must have gone wrong. Double check the measurements and units you input. I haven't tried the test myself, so I'm not familiar with that specific one... but I'm guessing that's where something went wrong.

I'm sure it's obvious by now, but bf calculators are all over the place. I wouldn't give them much weight in gauging your fitness levels, though they can sometimes do well in generating a ballpark figure. Skinfold calipers are more accurate. Water displacement is the way to go, but if you have one of those tanks in your house, you might need to give up physical fitness and check your mental health.

Hey diana~ I see that you said 78cm, make sure that the calculator isn't looking at it as 78 inches. If you are using cm for all of your measurements, make sure the calsulator is also. I did read somewhere on here a story about an anorexic that had a BF of 53% because she had NO muscle on her body from overdieting.

I did this measurement thing early in the morning so I wasn't all with it yet, thus messed up the inch/cm part....some places I left it in inches while others I did centimeters. No wonder my body seemed waaay out of porportion....kinda scared me. But thanks for your help. 23.6% body fat is more like it; if I ever do reach 74% then please send some diet info ;)
