I am only 19 years old and I seem to have gained so much wieght over the years and not really realizing it until recently. I wiegh 250lbs and I feel really bad about myself. I feel fat and ugly. I have tried losing wieght and nothing helps, I've tried atkins, tried running, eating healthier and even diet supplements. Nothing seems to help. My friend suggest this site and I am trying it out today. I just need help. I really don't know what I need to do to lose this weight. Help?

Losing weight takes time and you need to do a combination of diet and exercise. I would try the fitness and nutritional plan here at the top of the page. You just have to have patience. This is the right place to come if you have questions or need modivation. Good luck.

Welcome to FT! The weight didn't come on fast and it won't go away fast either so don't get too frustrated! Check out the message boards here LOTS of good advise and motivation. For diet, you really need to make sure you are eating healthy and creating a calorie deficit <count your calories for a few days, say 4 or 5, then average it out and subtract 250 calories, that is enough to start you losing weight the healthy way>. For excersize, find something you love to do and do it! Go swimming, ride your bike around the neighborhood, go for lots of walks, pick up a work out video to do every day after school/work. Go to your local gym and learn the basics of weight lifting because lean muscle burns calories more efficiently. Most of all keep yourself motivated, check our "monday check in" thread and join the rest of us who are doing our daily best to lose our weight. You have come to a great site and I think you will find all the info you need here! :love:

I'd suggest you make the most out of this site. I'm still pretty new here, and I found it much easier to just get cracking with the program this site sets up for you. Stick with it for 2 weeks or so and you'll already start to feel better. Don't try to do too much at once. gradually increase you knowledge using this site. There is lots of great info here.
