Hi friends. I have not posted in awhile. I was very discouraged about my two and half year (yes you heard it right) plateau due to my thyroid. Well on the net I hooked up on the Weight Watcher site with a group who talks about these hormanal issues each day and got armed with some ammo. I now take meds to treat my T3 in addition to my Synthroid and finally after two months I lost eight lbs and back down to 126.6. I am estatic. I also bought a townhouse recently and joined a new gym. I got a new PT and change my program as usual every eight weeks. I am doing interval training which really helps to rev up my comprimised metabolism. Now I feel a real sense of renewal to my program. I realize I was getting inside benefits , lifestyle benefits and energy from my diet and exercise but I was getting no outside results. Now I look like my pix again.

Congrats on breaking the plataeu!!
I have some online friends who have been taking meds for their thyroids. It's frustrating on my end just reading about the struggles they have had to even get the diagnosis. Then, the waiting out the various meds to see if positive results are acquired.
I wish you continued success on your meds and weight loss!! Keep up the great work!

As I understand the T3 is one of the hormones and is barely paid attention to by the mainstream drs. There are two books out by Dr. Vliet called Screaming to be heard and It's my ovaries stupid dealing with hormonal issues and women. I had to download a ton of info that was e mailed to me by a person on the Weight Watcher website. The med I am taking along with Synthroid is called Cytomel.
