Losing weight has less to do with spending half an hour in the gym, and more to do with how you live your life.
Look at your diet. Is it good? Does it need improvement? If yes, change it. If you don't change it, you don't really (REALLY) want to change.
Do you burn more than you take in? Do you eat more than you burn?
If your day is a get up, eat, drive to work, drive to the gym, do 30-60 mins of cardio, then drive home, you may need more. That may be just enough to maintain what you're at now.
Add weights, add a walk during the day. Walk by the beach. Take the old bike for a ride. Go for a run. Give up processed food and eat whole grains, fruits, veggies. Pre-made food = preservatives & salt = bad.
If your food can sit in the fridge for more than a couple of days, that's a bad sign. Empty your cupboards and buy fresh, perishable food, eat it, and burn it. Sauces & dressings = guilty calories.
Food is fuel, nothing more.
Hows that for a start?
