Why don't you want to gain muscle?? Muscle helps to burn fat. You need to lift as well as cardio, and eat a balanced healthy diet in order to lose fat.

If you only do cardio and eat less fats, you will loose weight only temporary, and your body will stay the same shape but only smaller. If you want a nice sculpted look that you produce, incorporate the weight training. And like Cristal said, Muscle helps burn fat, and also assists in speeding up your metabolism with the cardio.
