Just drink Water, eat healthy and workout and stop looking for an excuse to drink anything with alcohol. Seriously these post about drinking alcohol of any volume being good for you is getting silly...everything I've read essentially says that it's good for you, but come on. Odds are you're going to die of something other then a heart related condition if you're healthy and in shape, and if you do die of a heart related condition it's probably going to be unavoidable anyways.
So put down the booze (or strong cider in this case) and go to the gym.
There's my 2 cents...can I have change?

ok well, maybe 2 litres is a bit too much. but theres nothing wrong with having a few drinks and getting drunk on a saturday night is it? i cant imagine saturday night without alcohol. i want some real facts, like how many units is the OK limit per week, that would be very helpful. then ill decide how much i should take for myself. im educated, i wont go drinking too much alcohol to the point to which it screws up my liver and other organs.

Then please stop making new posts all over the boards justifying how much you can safely drink. If you're going out every Saturday nights and drinking till you fall down and don't believe you're not doing some amount of damage to your body, liver and kidney's or setting yourself back in gains then you're fooling yourself.

There is such a thing as being to obsessed with a healthy lifestyle. I would never sacrifice a social life just so you don't have a few extra calories to burn off. Not having some fun and spoiling yourself can be just as unhealthy as never excercising.

go to bodybuilding.com and look up the effects of alcohol on a person who is training. i myself still struggle with drinking (im not gonna lie) and find it is a major impediment to my training. im realizing my training and nutrition and overall HEALTH is much more important than getting blitzed up every weekend. alcohol shouldnt regulate your social life. you can go out with your friends and still have a few drinks, the important thing is control. look to the long term. but seriously check out those articles.. its an eye opener.
