fast. easy. cheap. portable. -- and you can throw away the fat (yoke) if you want to. A classic snack and packed with protein. Let's all boil up a dozen eggs and stick 'em in the fridge for later.

Yep, don't overlook this excellent, inexpensive, source of protein. Whey is fine but I think a lot of the hoopla about it is due to marketing.

I agree completely. If eggs had a marketing department we would be eating them all day long!

Too bad the whites don't taste as good as the yolk. Do you just eat them plain, salt, whole egg?

Hey don't knock the sulfer burps! If you hold on to 'em long enough for 'em to rippen and take another trail you can clear whole rooms silently and effectivly!:) pffssssst! oops!

And unless you want your heart to seize like an old engine you have to go sparingly on the yolk.

Sometimes I toss one (without the yoke) into the blender when I make a protein drink. They just blend in and you can't taste it.

Great for proteins but I see a egg contains ALOT of cholesterol (about 250 mg per eggs) , now how much is actually containned in the white ?

Just cant seem to find this information in any books , library , name it...

There are 213mg of cholesterol in a whole egg. The egg white however has exactly 0mg of cholestrol. One egg has 75 cal. with 17cals coming from the white and 59cals from the yolk. The protein breakdown is 6.25g in a whole egg with 3.52g in the yolk and 2.78 in the white. But don't throw away all your yolks just yet, they are loaded with a tresure chest of nutrients that make them valuable too. For more on eggs go to

If we would remember what an egg really is then its easier to "visualize" the nutrient content of each part. The white contains the materials to help feed and cushion the yolk or fetus. Sort of like a seed with its endosperm and seed kernel. More protein in the yolk naturally and contains cholesterol as it is needed for protein synthesis. I agree with skeld, I NEED TO GET A LIFE.

Well skylar, that's a very eggsestential eggrandisment of eggsactly what an egg is all about. At the risk of eggsagerating the worth of eggs I think they are about the best protein value in eggsistance today. Thanks. Now I don't feel like such an egghead. Sorry, I couldn't resist!!

No problem! And yes I'm basically a bored individual. I just did a quick search online and found the site I listed above. Gee, I wish I'd had the internet when I was a kid.
