Depending on your genetics you might just be more inclined to store fat there and lose it last, in which case the usual cardio and crunches, ect will do the job. However is it the subcutaneous (under the skin) fat layer you want to lose or the general shape of the gut. Many people appear to have a gut because the internal muscles do not hold the organs (and consequently the outer stomach muscles) in the most flattering way.

If there’s not much of a fat layer to loose try just focusing on holding your stomach in all the time (stomach in chest out type pose). This will strengthen the muscles so that after a while they will stay like this naturally. Also try vacuuming exercises (literally breathing in, sucking your waist in chest up as much as possible and holding); this will have the same effect. You could also try swimming under water and close grip pullovers; theses will also act to enlarge the rib cage so it depends on your goals if they are appropriate.

Im not necesarily trying to get a 6 pack, just a flatter stomach...there are days when its so flat and then other days I feel its huge...My diet is clean 99 percent of the time with an occasional cheat, i hate having such a skinny top with a wide bottom...ive gained 2 lbs of muscle in 6 weeks...im working out hard as ever...and keeping my diet clean...
