Hey. Im new to all this and i've got a question..might be a bit stupid but yea.. i know that eating before u workout isn't good (true??) but I was wondering about eating after working out. I exercise before lunch (only free time because im busy most nites) and then eat. whats the take on that? is it ok, or does eating so soon after working out defeat the point of exercising before?:( totally lost!

not eating before workout is not only not stupid but it's a very good idea...usually 30-45 minutes before you hit the gym....try to take in complex carbs with some protein(yam+fish)...then after workout it's essential to eat to get best results..you got a small window of opportunity to maximize your results in the gym...directly after workout..during this time you should eat fast digesting(simple) carbs and fast digesting protein...you can try 1:1 ratio of simple carbs to whey protein or even 2:1...you can either try whey protein powder with dextrin/dextrose(fast digesting sugars)...the faster you get nutrients to your body the better...then afterwards...30-45 minutes later....eat another meal....maybe mix of brown/black rice with regular white rice and a piece of grilled chicken.....with a side of vegetables...broccolli/beans/etc

ok let me rephrase my jumbled mess of a first sentence...shouldn't hav eput the first 'not' in there...
Eating before a workout is a very good idea....not right before...but 30-60 minutes prior....that way your body will digest the food and give you plenty of energy for the workout...complex carbs(yams, sweet potatoes, kashi, backwheat, lentils, brown/black/wild rice) all will provide sustained energy needed for the whole workout....
