i put that i was willing to work out 5 days a week and it still only has me training 3 days. is something wrong or does it just think i should only be doing 3?

I think that the program is set out to avoid over-training. A lot of people, new and seasoned weightlifters, will sometimes fall into this. You can, however, lift more often than this, as long as you are aware of the possibilities of overtraining. The recovery period is very important when training. Your profile says you don't want to lose weight, so three or four days or training should be sufficient for you. (I am also assuming you do not want to bulk up)
