Physical results? I had to up the weight on 3 of the 5 machines I use when I workout, and was wondering if the strength I am gaining means that at somepoint in the near furture I will start seeing some actual changes in my body?? Just curious and hadn't seen a question like this before, so thought I would ask. Thx!!!

If you are upping the weight you are most likely getting stronger and building muscle fibers. It takes nutreints in our system to feed them. So yes, you should start to see some change. Not knowing your BF% it is hard to tell you how fast it will show definition, but you should start to see inches come off. Don't worry if your biceps get bigger. That is the muscle underneath the layer of fat, and will get leaner as you train. Keep training and keep trying to up the weight levels.
Isn't the results motivating! It's called "Pay day"!

When I was quite a bit smaller and had a gym membership, I loved looking like I was a "buff chic", so I don't mind if the biceps and arms and legs get bigger at first if it means they get smaller later. According to the bodyfat scale my mom has I am, at about 54% body fat(how embarassing:() I would think I should start seeing some inch loss if I keep going like I am going right??

Yes, you should see change after 2 weeks. My wife was at 45% (according to scale) after 2 weeks she was down to 43% and minus 2.5" around the abdomen.
Good luck to you, and keep training.

Woo hoo. That is great to hear. I am hoping to make it into some pants that are just a bit too snug by Christmas, and maybe I can really do it!! I hadto increase the weight on the other 2 machines last night, and it felt great! I am also making a serious effort to get in more water. The past 2 weeks I have gotten a minimum of 64oz a day. A step in the right direction I think!

Cristalbelle, when my wife first started working out a couple of years ago, she went between 4 and 6 weeks without any noticable changes. Then almost overnight she lost about 12 inches between her waist hip and chest measurements. It really pissed me off because the losses and gains seem to come so hard and slowly to me. The bottom line is that your body can't fight the change process forever. Sooner or later proper diet and exercise will win the day.

If Murphy's Law prevails and you don't make it into those pants by Christmas, just think how you'll look in June when it really matters. Keep increasing the weigh, work you'r diet. You'll get there.

Well, over the past 2 weeks, I have noticed a big change in how when I am sitting down, and flex my quad, I can actually see the muscle tighten and that entire section of my leg "pull together" so to speak. My biggest concern is that I carry all of my weight in my stomach(stress fat?) I tell my husband "If I could just lose some of the stomach, the rest of the body would be fine" BUT we all know there is no such thing as spot reduction! So, I will continue to lift heavy, look forward to increasing my weights again, and hope that by Christmas, I will see some changes!
