Depends on your goals; are you trying to tone, or build muscle mass. If you’re toning you should start off by doing cardio approximately 30 – 45 minutes about 3 times per week. Alternating between cardio exercises whenever you want provides variety and prevents you from getting bored doing it. If you’re trying to build muscle you should only do about 10 – 15 minutes per day as a warm-up exercise more so than as cardio as cardiovascular exercise is the number one way to burn fat, so you’d be better off saving your calories for your muscle building exercises.

Furthermore – the best time to do cardio is supposedly in the morning before breakfast since you haven’t consumed any food for about 8 – 9 hours, which means that you’re tapping right into those unwanted fat deposits rather than burning freshly consumed calories.
