I just filled out my Nutritional Plan for a weight-loss and toning schedule. I am currently 23, 210lbs, and 5'11". After looking at my daily suggested caloric intake, it is suggesting 3263 calroies a day. That seems like way too much, why is it so high? I understand that combining this with a workout schedule is supposed to help create energy to do the actual workout, but it still seems like way too much.

Anyway, thanks for your time and any insight you may bring me.

What is your activity level?? I am 5 ft 3, 235lbs and at a minimum I should be consuming 2300 calories a day with a moderate activity level based on my height and weight. I really think it all depends on activity level and metabolism. Hope this helps.

Thats does seem high. I would start at 2900 cal per day (14cal/pound), and see how it goes and if after 2 weeks you haven't seen any changes drop another calorie. Under any curcumstances, never go below 12cal per pound. Hope this helps.

I got very similar results...and it seems like an excessive amount of calories to me. Is it safe to eat 2000...or 1600...or is it better to cut bad fats and sugars then tons of calories?? I gym 5 days a week...and I want to lose about 125 lbs.
