With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
I'm going to be taking a break from my FT work-out for the next 3/4 weeks and have a couple of questions hopefully someone can answer for me.
When I resume will I be able to start off where I left off with updating my programme with my work-outs or will the date change cos problems.
Will a break set me back with my goals. I thought I'd read somewhere that it takes a few months for the muscles to change.
Also, will running compensate for my lack of work-out. I'm trying for 3x week over 30 minutes. Running for some and walking for some to build myself up.
Thanks for the help.
Taking your current goals into consideration, takeing 3-4 weeks & doing something different would be benificial. One thing I would reccommend is performing some calisthenics(such as push ups & chins) along with some core & abdominal work. You didn't specify what you where planing for cardio but given the time of year I have a reccommendationthat can possibly help both your phsical & mental conditioning. Instead of going to the gym visit a park, perform some light stretches on the grass, maybe do some calisthenics(plenty of bars usually in parks for pull ups) & go on a nice run through the park. It's a great way to get in shape & can be a nice change from the monotonous gym scene.

Thanks for the replies guys. Over the four weeks I was pretty much gonna try and keep with the running 3 times per week and see how I progress with that. I was also thinking of trying to do some squats, lunges, ab work, press ups in the house to keep something going.
Hopefully if the weather is nice i'll go for a run in the local park.
