i was recently diagnosed and was interested to see if anyone on these boards has it and how (if at all) its affected day to day living . as ive gotten abit older (35) my energy levels have really gone down even tho i eat a much much healthier diet now than i used to, ive read than gilberts can make you tired occasionally and wondered if anyone had any secrets to reinvigerating me . Of course it may just be that im a lazy old codger now  but sometimes im so tired even the smallest tasks like gettin out of bed and using the stairs drains me....yes im sounding lazy now :(

i saw my doc a while back and they checked my thyroid and some other stuff with blood tests, thats how they found gilberts syndrome (after i had to inform my gp of the existence of gilberts because my biliruben sky rocketed she sent me to a specialist who diagnosed straight away, ive lost faith in my gp down to this and another misdiagnosis i was given but my alternative is miles away) after reading up a little on chronic fatigue syndrome, i believe there is no treatment anyway if it is that :( my crappy quality of sleep and work related stress is the most likely cause, 2 things i cant do much about as im reluctant to get sleeping tablets.

If you don't like your doc you should find another, or another until you find one that you have faith in. Also I believe food and fitness play a major role in feeling better. Keep up the healthy eating, maybe try organic. Some people think its faddist, but if you can get food in its purest form why not.

the thing is i eat healthier now than ive ever done before making sure i get plenty of fresh fruit and veg and exercise daily. i thought it may have been because i wasnt eating enough carbs with my high protein and fairly low fat getting all my carbs from veg , so i added wholemeat pasta/rice and no difference. im beginning to think that it may be because i eat similar/identical meals regularily so im gonna try and find things other than tuna and turkey that i can fit into my diet/schedule. my problem is that if i start to complicate my diet and involve more options and thought i may gradually revert back to unhealthier ways
