there are many protein sources available in drinks. Most are a combo of whey, caseinate, milk and egg white. Some have carbohydrates. Whey protein drinks contain 'just whey'
it gets in your system the fastest. On any empty stomach in the morning you are better off with the blends cuz they burn slower.
Whey comes in concentrate or isolate. Isolate is filtered more, more usable protein grams and more expensive.

well whey protein is contains or is made of whey. Whey protein absorbs better into your body and doesnt burn as fast so you are able to complete the absorbtion phase.

There have been many posts on this. Try using the "search" function.

Anyway, whey protein is derived from milk and has been documented to be the best type of protein you can ingest. As ltroisi says, isolate is the best type.

However, make sure that you don't forget to vary your protein intake...eat eggs, soy products, milk, chicken, etc. A good mixture of protein sources is beneficial!
